Projects, sheets and DDB
Manage complex multi-sheet designs, embedded databases, and linked resources.
Open related documents
Opening through a project entry file traverses dependency manifests and relative paths to bind board layouts with their corresponding schematics. Pairings rely on official project linkage records.
If only one side appears, verify that companion files exist in adjacent folders under expected filenames. You can open PCB and schematic files separately; the engine will still reconcile cross-probe references based on shared component designators and pin assignments.
Several designs inside a DDB
Protel 99 SE .ddb archives are multi-stream compound files that frequently bundle several revisions of board layouts, multiple schematic sheets, and component libraries in one file. Keltri parses the internal OLE stream tree directly and displays available documents in the left drawer.
You can switch between designs freely within the tree. Before cross-probing, ensure that the active schematic corresponds to the chosen board variant. Embedded library members serve as symbol references and are distinguished from full functional project sheets.
Navigate sheets
The sheet drawer supports hierarchical tree views, responsive thumbnail galleries, and instant name filtering. Schematics feature a continuous roll mode, allowing seamless vertical scrolling across dozens of sheets with mouse wheel acceleration or PageUp / PageDown keys.
Top-level sheets and nested sub-modules preserve hierarchical path prefixes (such as /MainBoard/PowerSupply/U2), preventing designator collisions across modular sub-circuits and maintaining rigorous context.
Loading and cancellation
When handling high-density industrial boards with tens of thousands of pads and hundreds of nets, parsing progresses through asynchronous multi-threaded pipelines with non-blocking progress indicators and elapsed timers.
You can cancel loading at any moment; the engine safely recycles intermediate memory buffers and cleanly resets viewport state without blocking the UI thread or touching files on disk.
