Windows, bookmarks and notes
Multi-screen docking, layout memory, reading history, and repair work orders.
Separate windows and displays
Detach PCB layouts, schematics, or PDF datasheets into standalone top-level windows via the Window menu. On multi-monitor workstations, place the PCB on your primary display and schematics on a secondary screen while cross-probing keeps working seamlessly.
If disconnecting a monitor leaves windows off-screen, press Ctrl+Shift+F12 or select Recover Off-Screen Windows to snap all viewports onto your active display.
Remember a layout
Save your personalized split ratios, panel widths, and toolbar docking configurations. When automatic layout memory is active, workbench geometry persists quietly across application sessions.
If changing display scaling alters window arrangements, select Restore Compact Layout anytime. Configuration states remain decoupled from your project folders.
Bookmarks and history
When reviewing complex enterprise boards, the bookmark tool snapshots your active focus on critical ICs or circuit blocks for instant recall from the drawer.
An integrated viewport navigation history acts like a web browser: click Back or Forward (or press Alt+Left / Right) to retrace recent inspection locations effortlessly.
Notes and reading records
Engineered for hardware diagnostics: press N on the PCB or schematic to activate redline drawing. Sketch rectangles, focal circles, arrows, or callouts to mark cold joints, blown passives, or PCB trace cuts.
Assign four severity levels (Fault, Warning, Info, Fixed). Annotations persist strictly in non-destructive companion .notes.json files, with one-click export to UTF-8 BOM Excel CSV sheets and Markdown repair reports.
