Troubleshooting and reporting
Diagnose drawing discrepancies, resolve cross-probe mismatches, and submit sanitized reports.
Missing wires, parts or content
- Verify layer toggles: Inspect the Display → Objects tab to confirm that traces, pads, or component categories are not hidden.
- Check copper layer isolation: If single-layer mode is active (press L to check the dock), non-active layers fade out; click Show All to restore.
- Verify sheet hierarchy: In multi-sheet or DDB projects, expand the left drawer tree to verify that you are inspecting the intended sheet.
- Distinguish missing assets: If a project references missing external library symbols, notices indicate dependency limits rather than rendering bugs.
Mismatched nets or no linked response
- Confirm revision alignment: Ensure the PCB and schematic originate from the same design release to prevent netlist drift across versions.
- Alt-click component bodies: Alt-click on a PCB pad to select the parent component rather than an isolated copper segment.
- Inspect implicit pins: Check whether decoupling capacitors use invisible global power pins (e.g. unrouted VCC connections).
- Verify cross-probe state: Confirm that the Linked Navigation button in the top toolbar is active (shortcut Alt+3).
Slowness, blank views and windows
On massive industrial boards with hundreds of thousands of primitives, turning off polygon copper fills (Fills) in the Display tab instantly sheds vertex loads and boosts frame rates.
If disconnecting external monitors leaves windows stranded off-screen, press Ctrl+Shift+F12 to snap them back immediately. The engine relies on modern native WGPU acceleration; keep graphics drivers updated for peak throughput.
Report without uploading a drawing
If an import produces a parsing notice, clicking View Diagnostics creates a strictly sanitized technical summary.
This summary contains only build identifiers, operating system architecture, parser phase, and generic error codes—omitting all filenames, net names, coordinates, and CAD geometry. You can safely copy or save the report to share through technical channels without sharing confidential design assets.
